When something harmful or irritating affects a part of our body, there is a biological response to try to heal or repair it known as inflammation. Common signs and symptoms of inflammation are (PRISH) pain, redness, immobility, swelling, heat. These signs and symptomsshow that the body is trying to heal itself. Inflammation does not mean infection, even when an infection can cause inflammation. An Infection is caused by a bacterium, virus or fungus, while inflammation is the body’s response to it.  The good thing is, Inflammation is part of the body’s immune response which allows the body to heal itself on its own. The bad thing is, it can become self-perpetuating (chronic inflammation) that requires more attention= remedies to help your body help itself.

“While stress, lack of exercise, genetics and toxins can all increase chronic inflammation, the average American diet, overloaded with trans fats and refined sugars, has become a major culprit. That’s because heavily processed foods are difficult for the body to break down, effectively taxing the immune system. Refined carbs raise blood sugar so quickly that the body can become immune to insulin, which also increases inflammation. “
